Information Technology
Department Description:
The department was founded in 2016-2017. It prepares students in the core competencies of the IT discipline, including platform technologies, networking and communications, information security and management, programming fundamentals, multimedia, database administration, and Web systems and technologies
Department Vision:
The Bachelor of Information Technology is an innovative program based on a number of core courses in IT. Upon graduation, the students will be able to understand the impact of technological change and also appreciate the current usage of IT in business and industry. Further, the students will be exposed to the current trends in computing which will enable them to become leaders in the IT field
Department Mission:
The mission of ITD can be summarized as preparing students for professional practice and graduate study through a program that provides a strong fundamental technical and high quality undergraduate education.
Learning Outcomes at Department:
To achieve the objective of this program, the following learning outcomes have been established:
- Students will be able to identify characteristics of computer systems and software applications.
- Students will be able to explain the implementation process of design and development of Information Technology.
- Students will be able to apply decision-making skills concerning Information Technology issues using theory and practice.
- Students will be able to identify Information Technology software application problems.
